Estadio Azteca: Temple of Football
Estadio Azteca is the only stadium that has hosted two World Cup finals (1970 and 1986). This colossus of 87,000 seats will witness historic matches in 2026, including the tournament's opening match.
The Azteca has a special mystique: here Diego Maradona scored the "Hand of God" and the "Goal of the Century" against England in 1986. Visiting this stadium is a mandatory pilgrimage for any football lover.
The stadium is located in Coyoacán, south of the city. You can arrive by metro (Line 2, Tasqueña station + Light Rail) or by Uber/taxi. We recommend arriving at least 2 hours before matches.
